I worked at Capital Group as a contractor for more than a year

Pros

Great environment, co-workers, and culture. They have a company cafe with great foods as well.

Cons

The internal employees can move within departments so they are the priority when it comes to hiring even you worked longer and better than them for the department just because you're a contractor.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be nice if the management can give the good working contractors a chance to get hired.

I worked at Capital Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good work/life balance. Up to 5 weeks vacation + 1 bonus week after 5 years of employment. Solid bonus structure. If you are at the end of your career, stop here.

    Cons

No room for advancement past Management level. Global organization with no opportunities for cross country assignments. CIO is average leader at best. She wanted Capital to be just like "any other organization". Ask the recruiter why so many Managers and Sr. Managers have left in the last 12 months.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This was a special organization. Yes, it was slow to adopt new practices and it suffered from analysis paralysis, but you always felt included in the decision making process and people treated each other with mutual respect. You got want you wanted, it's just like any other organization.
