I worked at Capital Metro full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Fairly good pay, excellent daycare program for employee,'s children, major problems with controlling their union and the union policies. Should never had contracted out their services,it will in the long run cost Austin taxpayers more money.

Cons

Too political, change their policies way too often

I have been working at Capital Metro full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good solid work. A lot of skilled people.

    Cons

Management and Union conflict is terrible. It spills into the work environment, poisoning a perfect work environment. Online applications are too quickly poured over, I believe that good talent is being passed by.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Both management and the Union need to come together to make the operation a better product for the city, the employees, and the equipment.

I have been working at Capital Metro full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Making a difference; Hard-working team and staff, Good pay and benefits. The people who put the service out every day are hard working and dedicated, as are most administrative workers.

    Cons

Financial challenges and mismanagement and strong, often negative political pressure on the board and executive staff have hindered strong, effective leadership, and created a PR nightmare. As a result, Capital Metro deserves more credit than it gets for making the city a great place to live.
