I have been working at Capital One

Pros

Open to improvements, garage parking, inexpensive cafeteria, on-site health center, just converted from a semi-monthly payroll to a bi-weekly payroll.

Cons

Growing into a megabank, some processes need to be improved. Not all departments offer telecommuting.

    I have been working at Capital One full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Benefits
    At this moment I can't think of anything else.

    Cons

    Declining Culture
    Very low morale
    Managers are very condescending to employees.
    Starting to micro-manage employees
    Hard work is not rewarded!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat your employees in collections as more than just a number. Stop trying to find ways to reduce paying your employees. This use to be a good department, that has changed.

    I have been working at Capital One

    Pros

    Nice transitional job;
    Low stress level;
    Good benefits and perks compared to other retail jobs;
    Training increased to one week before placement in branch;
    Opportunity to move up is present

    Cons

    Unclear career path;
    Unable to be cross-trained easily
    Bonus structure could use work but is nice for someone not in need of support through incentives

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Continue to listen to associates through "Voice of the Associate"
    Allow compensation information to be shared internally, such as having the information available when considering a promotion and job change.
