I have been working at Capital One

Pros

Open to improvements, garage parking, inexpensive cafeteria, on-site health center, just converted from a semi-monthly payroll to a bi-weekly payroll.

Cons

Growing into a megabank, some processes need to be improved. Not all departments offer telecommuting.

I have been working at Capital One full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Benefits
At this moment I can't think of anything else.

    Cons

    Declining Culture
    Very low morale
Managers are very condescending to employees.
    Starting to micro-manage employees
    Hard work is not rewarded!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees in collections as more than just a number. Stop trying to find ways to reduce paying your employees. This use to be a good department, that has changed.

    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at Capital One part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The pay was ok, tuition reimbursement, they were very generous with vacation - if you are not a manager, you are started off with 4 weeks and after your 5th year, you get 5 weeks, the hours in a branch were not bad, the training was the only thing fun about the company, they are involved in the community.

    Cons

They hire the most incompetent managers , Capital One does not back their lower level employees against management. Capital One is all about sales. Management declines vacation time, there was not room to grow, Capital One is constantly restructuring, eliminating positons. Everything is "management discretion" the guide lines and policies are not followed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect your employees, look into complaints made against management, dont allow retaliation. The "upper management" should micro-manage branch and district managers to assure these things do not continue to happen

    Doesn't Recommend
    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
