Pros

-Excellent benefits.
-A genuine commitment to community service and charity work.
-Strong opportunities for women and minorities
-A company with an excellent financial outlook.

Cons

-Bureaucracy!
-Ivory tower syndrome-upper management often has selective perception regarding input from lower level staff.
-Attempting (and struggling) to create a single corporate culture from a diverse set of acquisitions.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company has a well deserved reputation for fostering diversity in its employees. They would be well served to foster the same diversity in input from those employees. "Drink the Kool Aid" and you'll go far...if you're not onboard with them 100% you're probably better off looking for another place to work.

I have been working at Capital One full-time

    Pros

Compensation is good. Collegiate atmosphere (everything is new and exciting personality).

    Cons

Great public talk is opposite of actions. Lots of talk; however, little follow through is common experience. Makes very uninformed decisions (and is proud of bad decisions because decisions were made quickly!). Collegiate atmosphere (good for straight out of college-conceptual not reality mentality).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make informed decisions. Making quick decisions does not imply wise. Most times very quick decisions are rash (especially strategic decisions). Also, there are people impacted by your decisions. Your decisions are not an academic exercise (you are too large now for that mentality).

    No opinion of CEO
