A large thorny, bramble of a corporation with some sweet berries to be picked, if one is careful.

    Pros

A generally liberal culture for such a large corporate structure in the financial industry. Depending on how well you can climb the corporate ladder, large increases to your compensation can happen quickly and frequently.

    Cons

Your job is never safe unless you are a Statistician. Layoffs can happen at anytime and for the most random of reasons or excuses. There tends to be a desire to weed out old-timers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please provide business ESL and culture classes to all imported labor. They might speak English, but the lack of context concerning American English and culture creates large barriers to productivity.

Sink or Swim approach to new employees -- they are happy to see you sink

    Pros

Work-life balance is pretty good, but I found that I worked on weekends more here than any other job I had before.

    Cons

They do not do a good job of setting expectations for new employees who did not start working there fresh out of college, nor do they do a good job of giving people the tools and guidance you need to meet the expectations they never told you about.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You do a great job developing college hires -- do the same with experienced hires!
