Pros

Big company with great opportunities to learn and sharpen skills
You work with brightest and best people
Great regional compensation
Nice campus

Cons

Performance management process does not encourage associate alignment to corporate goals
Senior leadership's perpetual flip-flops on strategy, goals, vision undermines associate confidence
Poorly managed budgets and headcount frequently result in across the board staff reductions

Advice to Management

Get back to your roots where associates are empowered to make a difference. The company is bloated with management promoted beyond their skill level.

    Pros

    Diversity of talent and ideas
    Forward thinking
    Open door management culture
    Focus on continuing education
    Compeling company mission
    Vast array of associate benefits
Very competitive pay structure for Richmond VA area

    Cons

Burdensome (but generally fair) performance management process that makes otherwise 'A' players feel like 'B' or C' players.
Coordinates and incentivizes line of business behaviors, versus customer centric behaviors (but this changing).

    Advice to Management

Continue to invent ways to make the mission tangible and achievable.
