I have been working at CarMax part-time (less than an year)

Pros

Great benefits, low pressure environment, and ability to work part time or full time. CarMax not only believes its equities such honesty and integrity but they practice them too. They try there best to do what is best for the customer and they truly are a customer first dealership. Employees get discounted prices on cars which is great as well.

Cons

The pay here is not as high as other dealerships, and the job has very policy oriented management. Point system for attendance is a bit excessive at times.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow for lenience on policies as they can hinder success at times.

    Pros

    Variety of jobs/duties. Upper management good. Some jobs allow flexible scheduling. Lots of movement. Coworkers nice and professional. Facilities clean and room for breaks.

    Cons

    Some middle management is short sided and difficult to approach. Seem offended at the idea of improving or enhancing efficiency.

    I worked at CarMax full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Flexible schedules - you can switch with other people during the week. Great training program.

    Cons

    Overly focused on rigged customer surveys, very poor pay for the industry. The car business requires extremely long hours, and you can make way more money at other dealerships.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop treating people like little kids and let employees be adults. Stop managing a used car business like a McDonald's.
