I have been working at Carbonite full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Committed and talented senior leadership in customer care provides good direction, projections, and valuable feedback. Senior leadership is inspiring and motivating. Great opportunity for applicants with solid work ethic and passion for technology. Goal of support group is world-class customer service. Very nice employee recognition program, mentoring, on and off-site events.

Cons

Although not actually a "con", call center jobs are not for everyone. Ability to maintain schedule adherence and perform in a fast-paced customer-facing environment is required.

I worked at Carbonite full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some really smart people to work with across the teams. Benefits are great, support staff is helpful.

    Cons

There is a real lack of technical leadership in the company. The teams are working on their own projects and don't collaborate much. This means the same work is done over and over again for different projects. Upper management likes the idea of being innovative and doing new things, but doesn't back it up with the time or resources.

    Advice to Management

Get the company on-board working towards a single goal. Figure out why there is no real technical leadership and find people to lead this charge. If you hire people who want to work on new technology and don't give them something interesting to work on, they'll leave.

I have been working at Carbonite full-time

    Pros

early days there was strong sense of team, little bureaucracy and process which at times confused things but at least you could get stuff done and make an impact.

    Cons

Micromanagement...no clear leadership...execs involve themselves in details which could be managed by entry level/junior employees

    Advice to Management

Stronger executive team with more strategic scope.
