I have been working at Cardno

    Pros

Branch specific: good people, casual yet motivated work place (I like that I can wear jeans and a t-shirt to work), project managers very approachable

Weekly scheduling meetings to ensure staff are utilized and have work to do!

Cardno ERI's (formerly Environmental Resolutions Inc) merger with Cardno (based out of Australia) has increased opportunities across the nation and abroad. Opportunities to travel for work (Australia, South America, east/west coast, ect...) on a variety of interesting projects, if interested.

Increasing communication and resource sharing between Cardno branches (Cardno Entrix, Cardno WRG, Cardno TBE, ect..) mean greater opportunities in the future. But currently very limited client base.

    Cons

Pay well below average. Not totally unreasonable because the staff is less qualified (less education/experience) than industry comparables. Unfortunately this makes Cardno ERI a stepping stone for gaining experience and then leaving for a 15%+ pay raise at a different company. Need to pay more to retain skilled employees and increase efficiency.

Management heavy. Way too many managers for the number of employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase pay/efficiency by cutting management fluff.
