    Extremely frustrating place to work for an engineer.

    Pros

    competitive salary and benefits; reasonably stable company; competent, smart, friendly, cooperative coworkers, comfortable facilities and working environment, good equipment and tools.

    Cons

    The documentation system is extremely cumbersome and time consuming. Engineers spend most of their time working as clerks. So-called "training" is busywork to show the FDA but offers no added value to the company or product quality. Extemely bureaucratic operation. Nobody seems to be able to make a decision. Development and product improvement seems to be at a standstill due to fear of the FDA. Upper management appears conceited and does not communicate with the lower ranks. Direction of the company and products seems to be lacking with many product development starts and stops. Upper management does not seem to care, just interested in drawing their high salaries and bonuses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Start providing some real leadership to the company. Realize that there are many extremely capable employees in the company whose talents are currently being wasted on busywork. Get these employees moving on productive tasks. Hopefully the new CEO does not ride into the townhall meetings in a chauffered limo to show his superiority like the previous CEO did.
