Pros

They offer "combat" pay, competitively high wages to entice new hires

Cons

they will fire anyone, at any time, without reason; administrator, DoN, and shift supervisor positions all experience high turnover. the rehab gym is constantly stuffed well beyond capacity, therapists have to fight for space and equipment. benefits are terrible, took me months to get paid for my approved vacation time. no cell phone policy, but that is the only way to get in touch with rehab director, who WILL call you before and after work but refuses to answer her phone. therapist turnover is so high, they recruit ANYone, so new grads, beware the high pay. You won't have a mentor, the legally required supervision, or any support from your supervisor. Oh, and they expect you to work unpaid, to maintain unrealistic productivity expectations, punching out to do documentation.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Replace Teaneck rehab director, i have literally watched her shut her door in patient's faces. Value your employees, they are the face of your business. Spend less on decor, and more on employee training.

    Pros

commiserating with other staff and residents

    Cons

having to commiserate. often shortstaffed. mgmt doesn't understand work/life balance for employees, but mgmt can take time off any time have 3 hour lunches for "meetings".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

hire competent staff. encourage growth instead of keeping employees "stuck" in same position without offering career path or development. listen to staff and offer assistance if they need help.

    Pros

Relatively new building with a parking garage. Good location near George Washington Bridge. Security key card system to get into building and parking lot.

    Cons

Very stressful to work with employees being terminated every day for no apparant reason. Always wondering if you will be next. Company doesn't care about employees. There isn't any loyalty to the employees. Doesn't matter how good of a worker you are. You can be terminated on a whim.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The best companies to work for are the ones that treat their employees right. Employees feel loyalty to a company that is fair. When you fear for your job every day it creates an unhealthy work environment.
