I worked at Career Education

Pros

The best reason to work for Career Education is if you are truly wanting to be an educator and give back to the community...without regards to salary or the way you are treated.

Cons

Working for an organization giving 110% day in day out and taking the initiative to complete task that are not being completed by other Directors and not being recognize by the Senior Management Team of the Group. Unless you work in Admissions there is no recognition for a job well done in the organization.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reduce multiple senior level staffing at the Corporate Office and provide the schools the necessary support to help the students and truly become an Education company looking out for the interest of the students and see them realize their dreams.

    I worked at Career Education

    Pros

Seemed to be trying to do better

    Cons

:Low funding for program needs, no consistency of leadership, current equipment that is shared by programs inaccessible, current soft goods runout (paper, etc.), lack of parking, outdated equipment, lower wages than other companies investigated, building was not heated properly: had to wear a coat all day, lack of planning for department goals, lack of knowledge by upper management regarding accreditation rules and regulations, lack of listening regarding rules and regulations resulted in loss of accreditaion for program, night hours mandatory with no public transportation cou;ed with lack of parking made those hours nearly impossible. low staff to student ratio, low staff to exteniship sites made visitng them as needed impossible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Support the programs to make them competitive (equipment needs) , get some heat in the building, stop changing leadership, investigate laws and rules of accrediting bodies before implementing changes that need to be changed almost daily.

    I worked at Career Education

    Pros

The best reasons to work for Career Education are to make a difference in the life of this country's youth by providing a quality education that leads to better job opportunities. The other reason is to bring change in our education system by assisting for-profit educational institutions to lead the fight at Washington, DC.

    Cons

They are a lot of office politics. People are promoted not because of how well they perform but who they know. The senior management team serves themselves with huge stock options and salaries.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote and recognize employees whose work performances are outstanding.
