    Pros

    Many of the employees at Career Education are competent, caring individuals who are willing to "go the extra mile" for students and peers. Innovation and technology are embraced at times. Benefits are good.

    Cons

    Communication is not the greatest, especially between the corporate headquarters and the schools. Company has a hard time keeping up with change, is often sluggish. Company mission is often lost. Bonuses are primarily based on company financial performance and compliance; individual performance plays a very small part.

    Advice to Management

    Strive to provide the best educational experience to students. Yes, financials, compliance, governance, and responsibilities to the stockholders are all very important, but the primary focus should be on the service to students. Unfortunately, that vision is lost all too frequently, especially at the corporate headquarters. Be sure the schools have all the resources they need to provide the best learning experience possible. The students will be happier and the financial rewards will come.
