I have been working at Carey International part-time for more than a year

Pros

Meeting different people all over the globe. Learning different languages.

Cons

Too much of favoritism towards selective candidates.

    I have been working at Carey International

    Pros

    Carey is the top of the top when it comes to private transportation. I have seen many facets of this company and continue to work my way through the organization. This company is not going anywehere and is destined for greatness with it's excellent, caring management team and all employees!!!

    Cons

    Bonus structure should be improved upon. If the company does well, employees should be rewarded for their hard work!

    Pros

    If there is a job available, take it....times are hard....benefits are OK compared to other companies...if you are a inside the box thinker with zero interest to affect the daily routine, this is the place for you.

    Cons

    Company is headquartered in DC and this is a subsidiary. Up until a short time ago, there was local management who was passionate about their customers and employees and strive to make a positive impact. This is no longer the case and the current local management is simply useless. They do not possess the local knowledge of market and geography to make any sound decisions and actually do not even attempt making any decisions, but simply accepting instructions from HQ and following them blindly....this used to be a place where people used to LOVE showing up for work and it is quite the opposite now. People show up simply because they have a job but employees are resentful and lost all respect for local management, and it is a shame.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I urge the senior management at DC to start talking to local NY employees in order to understand what is going on before a major exodus occurs....The NY office requires passionate, thinking leadership, not a puppet style management team.
