Pros

- Good stable company
- Very good diversity
- Great people

Cons

- A lot of under handed politics
- Management did not engage its employees and or knew their work loads
- Management does not listen to suggestions and/or improvement advise

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees get to know them, as they are not just KRA's and reports. And when they feel that; they will grow the business for you and produce great work without fear.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Hopkins, MN

I have been working at Cargill full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Conservative/safe, ethical, exposure to different industries w/o losing benefits or starting all over at a new company.

    Cons

Hard to change the ingrained culture of old school, white-man, top-down management style. It's struggling trying to make all BUs more aligned or cohesive.

Current Employee - Engineering Intern in Charlotte, NC

I have been working at Cargill as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Projects and production, capital deployment, maintenance reliability; wide range of experience that gives students a good feel of the company as well as the industry overall

    Cons

Locations are mostly rural and uninteresting, full-time engineers work very long hours, same work can be done at chemical or petroleum companies for higher salary

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Overall doing well
