Caribou Coffee – “Caribou, They just didn't learn from the Lawsuit.”
2 of 2 people found this helpfulPros
Caribou by far has the highest quality coffee available and the customer service that is free is by far in the top 10percent of companies out there. All employees receive 1/2 pound of coffee each week, a free drink for every shift worked and 10% off all merch and products. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and the customers are the best. Supervisors and store management is pretty good, they listen to you and seem to follow through on what they promise.
Cons
Wages are horrible, senior management only cares about themselves and will stab you in the back to protect their own backside. Upward advancement is a joke, they will promise and promise while asking you to do more and more by holding the proverbial carrot in front of you only to come up with an excuse of oh, sorry its going to be probably 3 to 6 more months till that position is available because the company is restructuring and that actual position does not exist anymore, but if you can show us that your more than willing to big we will promise you something else.
Advice to Senior Management
Follow through on Promises. The face of Caribou is changing and it is not looking good, the culture was great 3 or 4 years ago but recently it is just becoming another fast food bottom rung establishment. The company has forced the original thinkers out and brought in fast food, obese buffet restaurant mentality, the last time that I worked with marketing that was not the customer that we as Caribou were shooting for, and guess what it never will be. Caribou is about quality, customer service, that oasis in the fast paced world, sound familiar, probably not there aren't any senior managers who even know who the the original founders were or why they even started the business, besides Chad, and those who do know, are startled to see that our famous roaster is still there and not forced out as well. Very sad.
