Disorganized and dysfunctional team, other teams were good

Former Employee - Applications Analyst II in Denver, CO
Former Employee - Applications Analyst II in Denver, CO

I worked at Catholic Health Initiatives full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Good starting pay
idea of company is a great one - centralized corporate support to several small / medium / large sized hospitals around the country
Working for a non-profit private health care system that serves a mission

Cons

it took over 2 months to get a laptop
management was extremely disorganized
People are people everywhere you go, and CHI is no exception. There were teams that were painfully unproductive and dysfunctional, the leadership was continuously in flux. Other teams were stronger, with more stable leadership. Be careful which team you are interviewing for, there is such a wide variance of leadership.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider reviewing some long term employees that are not productive, efficient, organized or even rational.

    Cons

Recent move to IT outsourcing firm from India
Some recent acquisition targets are public institutions (a poor fit for a religious organization)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on the core mission and stick to like-minded acquisition targets.
    Re-think using off-shore IT outsourcing.
