I’ll have to agree with you regarding your comments that Cbeyond is a “stable company” with “reliable growth.” I’ll have to disagree with you on “highly competent senior management” as I have come to believe that some members of the senior management lucked into their jobs and are totally incompetent.
My main issue with your post is that this is a site for people to discuss their work experiences at their company, not a Investor Relations site where people are deciding if they want to purchase Cbeyond stock or not. Your comments don’t lend to work place environment at Cbeyond. Your comments don’t discuss the at-will firing of employees that may or may not be based on performance. Your comments don’t discuss the long hours or that senior management expects 24X7 of their employees.
Yes, Cbeyond has been highly successful, but when you peel back the onion, it turns out they did it at the expense of their employees. Prior to this economic downturn the employees were compensated accordingly by exercising their stock options, but since Wall Street has plummeted, employees can no longer find compensation in that manner.
I also noticed that you put your job function / job title as Consultant. That means that you get paid by the hour. I wish I had been paid by the hour for all those nights and weekends that I worked without any recognition, pay, comp time, or bonus. If I was able to charge by the hour, I’d be positing positive thing as well.
