    Pros

Lots of oppurtunity for professional development.

    Cons

Admin is not supportive of teachers. They hold the teachers almost soley responsible for student achievement and what you do great is never acknowledged. The prisoners are definately running the prison!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Discipline the students in a way that will motivate them to make better choices. Stop giving them chances to do the same things over again.

I worked at Cedar Hill ISD full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

There is constant room for growth and vacant positions to "cut teeth" on. Administrators need quality people to fill key positions. A hard worker can promote very quickly within the district.

    Cons

High turn over due to nepotism and politics at the administrative level. Corruption and financial mismanagement was evident in the district. There is a culture of secrecy among leadership; which makes it difficult for the average employee to understand non-traditional decisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Professional development should center around legitimate educational policies. Professional development should build team and positive culture. Re-establishing a connection between all educational stakeholders is critical to the long term success of the district.
