Great management style, flexible work environment, very collaborative

Former Employee - Senior Analyst - External Reporting in Dallas, TX

    Pros

Excellent training and attention to employee development
    Close working relationship with superiors

    Cons

Lack of promotion opportunity (unless you are an exception, it seems that you must leave and return to move up)
Some would say a negative culture, but I did not find this to be different than previous employers
New open-concept offices may be a turn off for many

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase the number of salary bands to provide promotion opportunities for mid-level employees.
Provide stock units (RSUs) as part of the standard compentation package for employee alignment.

Former Employee - Process Engineer in Pearisburg, VA

    Pros

Money thrown at you during hiring like bait thrown to dumb fish.

    Cons

Worst management, especially at the mid-level. Engineers can't advance to management as per policy. They hire bain / mckinsey types to run management. Consequently there is a big disconnect between management and engineering / operations. The philosophy is how can we make as much money as possible while screwing engineers. The turnover here is amazing.

If you are a good performer, they try to lock you in by offering a substandard long-term incentive agreement (more a bonded labor agreement) with a very restrictive set of agreements. Basically, you sign your career over. Long term dedicated employees ( over 10+ years) who signed such agreements have been sued by the company when the tried to leave for better opportunities & environment.

Basically it's a thankless job in a vindictive management environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are not an energy major, so drop the arrogance. Improve your behavior toward core engineering functions, you are nowhere near a premier company and talent will leave for the abundant opportunities in your operating countries.
