I have been working at Cellular Sales full-time (less than a year)

Pros

There are always opportunities coming up to join new programs or move up in the company.

Everyone is extremely helpful and open to answer any questions you may have.

The overall work environment is pleasant to work in, relatively calm and relaxed - not too distracting.

They make it easy to give your own ideas and suggestions to the team and to actually see them put into play.

Cons

It is my first office environment to work in, and the lack of natural light in the call center is a little hard to get used to.

Also, some of the incentives are harder to achieve or not even available if you put in the extra effort to join a new program, take on more responsibility and put your skills to the test.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make incentives more widely available, appropriate (monetary) and achievable throughout the different programs.

I have been working at Cellular Sales

    Pros

Laid back environment while making phone calls

Callers are easy to get along with

    Openness to share ideas

    Training is great

    Prizes are GREAT

    Requirements are not strict

    Rules are not unreasonable

    Opportunities for growth

Having fun days, pot lucks, and fundraisers

    Good central west knoxville location

    Cons

Exceptions are allowed to rules, sometimes based off of personal feelings and reasons from management

Management "listens" to ideas but does not "act" upon the ideas

A few female managers and supervisors let their emotions dictate their actions

Callers are held to higher standards than management

Management seems to look at their selves as high and mighty. If they read this review they may begin to give reasons about how it is not them that is the problem or wrong.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

LISTEN to the people! (ALL employees)

Be aware that females in leadership are being allowed to act on their emotions AND FIX IT!

Understand that even though some leaders have been loyal, as the company grows and improves, those people may no longer be qualified.

I have been working at Cellular Sales full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You are able to make your own schedule. There is no management daily in stores so you are free to do whatever you please during your shift.

    Cons

Pay check is never the same! You only get paid once a month and you never know what kind of "deductions" will be taken out. With every 100% commission job you are required to return commission if the sale does not stick. Not only does this company do just that, but you will be charged for the equipment loss as well. At times you could owe double the commission you made on the original sale. Everything is a sales pitch. From career advancements to explainations of commission cuts. Being knowledgeable of market changes and trends is the only way to know the truth about why your commission just got cut by 33% and if you didn't sign the new compensation structure form you will lose your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire empolyees that are worth your time and resources. Almost everyone currently working there was previously unemployeed, has a criminal background, has terrible credit, or is just unemployable by any other companies standards. Understand market trends are changing! Retail is not what it used to be and management ignores this fact. All the stores are becoming service centers for customers that purchased equipment online. Stop trying to trick your customers into thinking you are the "real Verizon". Cellular Sales is an authorized retailer and there is nothing wrong with that. Cellular Sales stores can not do the same things as corporate Verizon stores can.
