Pros

Great people, intelligent and motivated to be a part of something great. A lot of organizational change but provides a lot of opportunity if you are looking for it, you just have to go for it.

Cons

Leadership sometimes moves too slow with strategic decisions..

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Excited about new management especially new CEO. He "gets it" and seems ready to lead us through out digital transformation, not afraid to make tough decisions.

    Pros

    With a new CEO and lots of positive initiatives underway, Cengage is poised for great things. New guy Michael Hanson has hit the ground running and we're hopeful that CL will again become the innovative game changer it should be. Smart, friendly people who want to make a difference -- that's what makes this company great. But if you're looking for a place to "hide" and not be challenged, this isn't the place for you. . . change is the only constant around here. Shift happens!

    Cons

    At times there's not alignment across all groups, which can make our jobs tougher.

    I have been working at Cengage Learning full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Culture: relaxed, casual. Friendly managers. Domestic partner benefits! Very low attrition. Coworkers are mostly highly-skilled and intelligent people who are very helpful. The pay is what you would want but not usually actually expect. 37.5 hour work week.

    Cons

    Expensive benefits if you're getting them for your spouse/domestic partner. Parking can sometimes be a pain, but it's not unbearable. Short, unpaid lunch. 37.5 hour work week.

    Keep doing what you're doing.
