Pros

The student body is awesome and the parents are pretty good. They are involved for the most part in they children affairs .

Cons

No flexibility, not a great place to work if you have kids.
Hours are extremely long 7:30 - 4:30

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be less reactive and more responsive to both your teachers and student body. Be involved and approchable.

I worked at Center City PCS part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Potentially good position for college students with daytime classes.
Consistent hours if you have other obligations (e..g. another job or classes)
The students have personality... can be entertaining when it's not overwhelming.

    Cons

Can be stressful if the site is understaffed with a high student-staff ratio.
A curriculum was implemented from central office which attempted to make the kids take on additional work until they were picked up from the program (some as late as 6pm) which minimized homework time. Since school starts at 8am, with little to no PE/physical activities, kids are restless and often overwhelmed.

I believe the director of extended learning has since left, so I'm not sure if the curriculum has continued.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recruit staff far more consistently & provide more support -- at every level at each campus.

    Don't for additional curriculum.
Get undergraduates to come and tutor more consistently from different universities in the area
