I worked at Center for American Progress as an intern for less than a year

Pros

Motivated, intelligent and fun place to work. There are so many different departments working on so many fascinating and worthwhile projects. Famous and important guest speakers come into work all the time, so you are constantly learning and growing beyond your comfort level. And often throughout the year, CAP will host movie nights and political debate parties with free pizza, sandwiches, beer and soda. Also, your job is like a 10 minute walk to the White House.

Cons

Campus Progress and the rest of CAP are separated by nine stories... There's not a lot to complain about.

I worked at Center for American Progress full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great network, good connections, cool events.

    Cons

I worked for the Enough Project: The management is awful. Incompetence is awarded. There is no oversight of employees. Interns are treated terribly. There are no consequences for actions. There is no process to anything at all. All ad-hoc. There is very little room for growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire actual managers who can manage.
