Advice to ManagementAdvice

Instead of firing people who show that they want to help a place change for the better and grow. Encourage them to help with those changes. Reward those people, instead of rewarding the work-horses that show no promise in management abilities or forward-thinking.

    Notorious for Randomly Firing Employees

    Pros

-Some of the coworkers are great to work with and willing to teach you more about the industry.
    -Free food.

    Cons

-Rude/disrespectful coworkers in upper management and the account management department.
-While CL provides a lot of free food, fun company outings and unique benefits, they certainly do not outweigh the disrespectful environment, low salaries, poor/mundane work, and unorganized managers.
-The biggest con would be the fact that CL is known for firing its employees at random. One project coordinator was fired during her second week and another during her fourth week. Despite how great internal reviews go, they will still randomly fire people right before their 3 month or 6 month reviews. The husband and wife team that run the company brag about how they didn't have to resort to layoffs during the past few years, but that's because they are constantly firing people. It's gotten so bad that employees are starting to worry about the high turnover.
-Constantly having to trun new workers. Because there is a high turnover, CL is always hiring new people. This means that rather than working, employees have to spend time training new people. At least one new employee is fired once he or she has gained a good grasp of the internal procedures and is able to work independently. This is a big waste of time and really impacts the work for clients.

    Pros

Centerline gives young, ambitious people a chance to work with substantial brands, thus carving themselves out a reputation. Yes, the hours are merciless. Yes, the policies are Darwinistic.

But they want only the best. So only the best survive.

The amenities are substantial and your co-workers will be amazing. It is an experience worth having.

And when you do, inevitably, get banished from Eden, the parting is all the more sorrowful.

    Cons

It is cut-throat and there are sycophants everywhere. The account executives are given far too much power and lack creativity and vision.

Don't go in to Centerline expecting to make it a lifelong career, although there are a chosen few that do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
