I have been working at Centerplate full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Centerplate is a great company to work for. The senior management take the hospitality aspect of out business to heart and both guest and client satisfaction are job #1. Employee development and quality of life are equally important to the company and it is a very nice environment in which to work.

Cons

I have no reservations about the company. There is nothing for the "Cons" which comes to mind.

I have been working at Centerplate full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great Management Team- all of the RVP's and SVP's I have worked with are good people to work with.
Des has turned this company into a Sustainable Company and controls are destination. There was a time when Centerplate could of folded at any minute but those days are long gone.
GM's are pretty free to run there operation without a lot of micro managing.

    Cons

Weak corporate support center for the field operators
    Not a great bonus plan
Lack of internal awareness about open positions for you to gain advancement. A lot of times you need to know someone to find out about a lot of the positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think the company needs to work harder to promote from within more. It seems that when a high level jobs come available they are filled with people from the outside.
I also think they need to recognize the hard work the managers of small venues do. Venues under $1.5M do not seem to get the recognition the larger venues do because they don't host huge events but they work just as hard as everyone else.
