The work is not that interesting and the pace is slow but the work life balance is the best!

Health Insurance Specialist (Current Employee)

ProsAlternative work schedules-8.5, 9.5, 10.0 hour schedules. Working from home is permitted. Both vacation and sick time are accrued every 2 weeks. Since it's a federal job, there is job securitty even in this bad economy. Also, there is a gym, daycare and post office onsite. There is alot of movement throught the organization, so if you get bored of one area, you can transfer out.

ConsThe pace is slow. The work can be tediuos, a lot of rubber stamping. The health insurance benefit is expensive. There is no tuition reiumbursement benefit. Change is slow.
