    I worked at Centex

    Pros

Work hard play hard with coworkers that become friends. You can take personal pride in the product created and the need it serves. Many talented employees willing to go the extra mile and work hard.

    Cons

Industry in chaos. The company was gutted of talent to survive the housing crisis. Some local management poor decisions cost big bucks

I have been working at Centex

    Pros

I loved Centex. The people were great, the recognition was fair, their was great communication, the products were something to be proud of, they instilled a sense of development within all employees, and they encouraged inovation. All that's, as you may have noticed, in the past-tense. See the downsides I posted about the company being acquired by Pulte for further information.

    Cons

None anymore. Centex was just acquired, or is in the process of being acquired, by Pulte Homes. So, don't come knocking on Centex's door looking for a job. Instead, look towards Pulte Homes. But even then, as Pulte is a ~3500 employee company and Centex is a ~2500 employee company they are going to have to hack away at headcount... not add to it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hopefully you all get to stick around at Pulte.
