I have been working at Central Freight Lines full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Home every night as a local driver, hourly pay, decent benefits, co-workers are pleasant to work with and helpful, many trucks replaced with new ones, this job keeps you active physically

    Cons

No uniforms, Can be very physical work some days (know your limitations and don't hurt yourself), management can seem to rush you to meet goals and deadlines (But that's the nature of LTL usually). Overtime pay doesn't begin until after 50 hours/week

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More lift-gates would greatly increase efficiency and decrease likelihood of personal injuries. Steps on the rear of all trailers would be a welcome improvement. Many areas could be made more efficient with minor changes, therefore raising funds to retain/ attain competent and skilled people. I see much waste for a "Green Fleet."
