I worked at Central Garden & Pet full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

When I started in 2004, it was a family owned company until CG&P bought it. It really was a family atmosphere!

Cons

CG&P Corporate buy out, getting rid of all the "old" employees in order to bring in their employees

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your "worker bees" and not just management

    Pros

None to be published outside of the people that work for this company. Management is not aware of any business trends or strategies of the market.

    Cons

Lack of training and structure plague this company. Although the people there are amazing management has no idea how to develop and grow this business to success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of dead weight there are many there that have no idea how to run a CPG organization. Mr. Ranelli has signed on for a lot of grooming of his executives and a lot of organizational work

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
