Flexible working house. Good Insurance coverage and vacation benefits. Good balance of work and life mixture.. Good employee retention rate.

Cons

Poor project and resource management. Afraid of technology change. Not enough challenge. Big swings in directions. Lack of vision and consistency. Constant company acquisitions caused product integration issues.

Advice to Management

Create an environment that encourages creativity and best use of the resource.

I have been working at CenturyLink

    Pros

The benefits packages are pretty decent. They offer stock purchase as well as a 401K.

    Cons

The management is spread out over too large of an area, which makes in impossible for manager to adequately help each employee. Also if you don't work in a large area you're pretty much forgotten about.

    Advice to Management

Take some more time to really help your employees instead of just passing them around to different departments that don't address the issues.

  2. Law department management worked at being fair and still maintained an "old boys" club mentality in many ways.

    Pros

Flexibility in schedule; Cross Training; ethics committee attention when it existed; "client" business groups"

    Cons

Keeping your head down and providing good service to client group is not enough; you must self promote and manage up effectively to succeed.

    Advice to Management

Work on internal inclusivness and truly valuing diverse ideas not just diversity.
