Pros

A professional environment where people are respected and most can achieve reasonable work-life balance. Fair benefits are available. A predictable work experience.

Cons

Long cycles to reach decisions and make any changes. Some hold things up to protect their turf, but for the most part it is just inertia. This leads to great frustration and to the loss of true high performers.

Advice to Management

Become more liberal on remote work. Stop the erosion of benefits to retain the top talent.

The company gets more risk adverse over time. We'll eventually shrink into nothing.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Work from home Decent salary Mostly left alone by management

    Cons

Very poor middle management Completely disconnected executive leadership Risk taking is highly discouraged. "Getting along" is far more important than profits.

    Advice to Management

Cut the entire lower level of management and start over Seriously, make the org chart less flat. There should be far less middle managers and a lot more worker bees.
