I have been working at CenturyLink full-time for more than a year

Pros

This Company Offeres Competitive Pay and incentives for its associates. Unlike others I;ve worked for who would let a department go on the fly to save by restructuring this company does exceedingly well. The CEO is wonderful aswell. Though like most conmpanies that have hick-ups and financial adjustments that impact the employees, Centurylink does well to minimize any collateral damage on associates and communities alike, that itself makes me proud to be apart of their team.

Cons

Centurylink like most companies at this time undergo financial changes to compensation and as a part of the retail sector. It has become increasingly difficult to maintain the quotas set by centurylink in part due to this economic situation that some refuse to acknowledge.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

While companies have a responsibility to the Shareholders, you have a responsibility to us aswell. please restructure your quotas to flow with the economic trends. Certain Locations struggle to compete against competitive products that offer more for less. Therefore selling services of half the calibur that the competition use is an accomplishment in itself.

I have been working at CenturyLink full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

They seem to be on solid financial ground, at least for now.

    Cons

They're in over their heads. They cling to the old, small company models and don't know how to be a large telco. Upper management is a Good Ol' Boys network and doesn't listen to the industry expertise of some of their newly acquired VPs from Qwest. They're also exceptionally cheap. Pay is not very competitive, benefits are only so-so, and they have draconian expense report policies. The work atmosphere is not healthy, and morale is universally poor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start acting like the #3 phone company, move out of backwoods Monroe, and acknowledge that you need to attract and keep good talent.
