I have been working at CenturyLink full-time (more than a year)

Pros

The scope of the products and the network reach makes CenturyLink a solid player in the market. As the 3rd largest U.S. telecom company, there is a lot of room to grow which is a great opportunity for a sales person. Tenured staff make the job of the salesperson easier and more attractive for clients to continue doing business with you.

Cons

Recent M&As have slowed some things down. In a year or two, I predict smooth sailing. Sr. Management has been very good at listening to the issues and taking action on them. It's not easy turning around a cruise ship, but they're managing.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Each market needs to be evaluated and analyzed individually for what is possible from a sales perspective. Some markets are capable of generating much more revenue than other markets depending on the business climate in that market.

I worked at CenturyLink full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Cheap offering for internet... as long as it's bundled with TV and home phone. If not bundled, the internet is more expensive and slower than the offerings from most other competitors.

    Cons

Lack of customer focus trickles up to lack of employee focus and causes low morale. No-one wants to spend their whole day fighting fires. Sometimes you want to put it out while it's still a spark.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Customer focus has suffered lately. This company cares more selling customers a 1-year contract than actually delivering on that contract.
