Advice to ManagementAdvice

It shouldn't take 2 years to fix a problem
Understand the Legacy companies purchased are each regulated differently and it is NOT one company.

    Pros

I worked in the Corporate Division as an IT Professional and found the people to be very professional and pleasant - no he said she said mentality - great group of folks! Plenty to learn if that is what you are into. Hours were flexible and the work form home policy was great!

    Cons

I didn't feel there were any cons to working here - I enjoyed my job to the point that I wish I could have it back....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the professional behavior it really counts....

I have been working at CenturyLink full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

CenturyLink management is very well intended, with a set of "unifying principles" which are truly aspirational. They manage their finances well, and are making the acquisitions they need to evolve from a traditional telephone carrier to a next generation provider of managed services and hosted data centers.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the recent acquisitions have led to many internal conflicts and a great deal of confusion over direction. This is compounded by senior management evolving more slowly than the organization itself, still trying to "hands on" manage an organization of 50,000 people the same way they did an organization of 3,000.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Getting some help to manage the change, or if they have engaged change management making that process more visible would certainly help. A more explicit demonstration of their trust in leadership below C-Level executives would go a long way in giving leadership the confidence they need to execute their direction without worry that someone from Monroe is breathing over their shoulder.
