Underpaid entry-level employees & unqualified management

Kansas City, MO

Former Employee – worked at Cerner full-time for more than a year

ProsLots of training opportunities and career opportunities --- if you put in 5+ years

ConsSkill set not matched with position -- you are placed in a position completely based on "business need"; your job may change a few months in -- and you won't know about it until it's time to move, and you have no say in the change; managers don't care about new employees (mine did not speak to me or acknowledge me for 5 months); benefits are not as strong as you're lead to believe

Advice to Senior ManagementReview resumes and experience thoroughly, and utilize that information to place your employees where they'll make the greatest contribution to the company; don't take advantage of the week economy by reducing starting salaries -- salaries have dropped dramatically in the last 3 years, despite the company's record profits

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
