Former Employee – worked at Cerner full-time for more than a year
Pros – Lots of training opportunities and career opportunities --- if you put in 5+ years
Cons – Skill set not matched with position -- you are placed in a position completely based on "business need"; your job may change a few months in -- and you won't know about it until it's time to move, and you have no say in the change; managers don't care about new employees (mine did not speak to me or acknowledge me for 5 months); benefits are not as strong as you're lead to believe
Advice to Senior Management – Review resumes and experience thoroughly, and utilize that information to place your employees where they'll make the greatest contribution to the company; don't take advantage of the week economy by reducing starting salaries -- salaries have dropped dramatically in the last 3 years, despite the company's record profits
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
