Writing Code to Save Lives

Velocity Software Engineer (Former Employee) Kansas City, MO

ProsWorked with a very fun, cooperative team. Got to develop software that would actually be used by my team rather than regular intern "grunt work". Learned quite a bit about the company as a whole along the way.

ConsHad a few issues with room arrangements (AC problems, moving rooms) at dorm the interns stayed at, but other than that nothing in particular.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Expect a promotion to a senior title within a year if you aren't stupid. -Work/life balance is fine if you aren't… Cons: The first problem with Cerner is the current rapid growth. Many hires are extremely unqualified and are only placed on business need. These people are… Advice to Senior Management: Stop promoting unqualified people. Promotions are entirely based on politics and who knows who. And stop allowing consultants to get their way 100% of… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
