    I worked at Cerner

    Pros

    Good company culture
    Everyone is helpful
    Business savvy management
    Stable company
Well-known company in the Kansas City area

    Cons

Could work extra hours on some teams
Some teams are not very highly motivated
    Relatively large turnover
Your experience will greatly depend on the team you become part of

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to retain your best people, implement incentives for people to stay with the company longer. I've seen so many great people leave the company because they felt under-compensated or under-appreciated.

I have been working at Cerner (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Career growth across company is available. Cerner is a great place to start your career out of college. If you are hired outside of Cerner, it is challenging to work alongside 20 something counterparts and make equal to the same pay when you have 10+ years of experience. Cerner does not seem to reward higher education/yrs of experience to outside hires. It is all about working the role you are in and proving yourself.

    Cons

Cerner operates under a level system and compensation is determined using a complex algorithm during annual reviews. Cerner is known for recruiting college students and base salaries are lower than other 3rd parties.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to be more upfront about salary increases/expectations for annual reviews

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
