I worked at Cerner full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Some good opportunities for training, and they seem willing to take almost anybody as an "engineer" regardless of background or experience.

Cons

Quality engineering takes a backseat to shiny marketing. Highly political management culture.

I worked at Cerner full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Relocation Assistance
    Sign-on Bonus
    Interview Transportation paid for
Easy interview (mass hiring of college grads, so they don't care about quality hires, just hires who can be molded and are desperate for a job)

    Cons

no on-site parking (must shuttle from another building, long wait sometimes was a fire hazard)
no cubicle (literally was had nowhere to work, had just a chair)
high turn over (they work you to exasperation and you break)
long hours (48 is minimum, though HR claims it is 40 and you are mismanaging your time badly if otherwise)
deceitful management and HR dept (very biased, though they claim to be neutral)
lots of company drama and dark secrets brushed under the rug
inconsistent standards in terms of professionalism for entry level employees versus executives
encourage employees to date one another even if on the same team, or report to employee of interest
no room for life outside Cerner, Neal is God, no room for questioning bad processes

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

don't lie about the job someone is being moved across the country for only to wonder why they aren't adapting to the new position when they didn't interview for it. Instead cater to suggestions and feedback. Don't say career is in one's hand when it all depends on business need and politics. career is really in Cerner's hand

I worked at Cerner full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It is a growing business with rich retirement possibilities if you work there for your life.

    Cons

I just did not like my job. I was able to move around the company to a few different positions, but felt like it was the same story, just with different faces.
