I worked at Cerner full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The PRO's were the Benefits

    Cons

Everything other than benefits. Expect to work 48-60hrs a week. They pay for 40, but expect 48 or else. Their slogan is Sink or Swim, which is why they have the highest Turnover Rate in the country for Corporate.

    Advice to Management

Just because someone has worked there for a long time, doesn't mean they have management qualities. Make sure the Potential Manager has people skills, knows how to handle a team, knows how to separate themselves from the employees (Don't go to the bars with the people that work for you). Lastly, Know how to point out POSITIVES in your employees, don't just focus on the negative. People shut down when they know they have made an impact (Because clients send reviews thanking that individual on a first name basis), then only talk about the negatives in a one on one meeting,....which happen every other week. What could anybody possibly benefit from with a one on one so frequently. That is all.
