Pros

You are on the leading edge of healthcare IT and have wonderful opportunities to improve healthcare in meaningful ways.

Cons

Traveling all of the time and working in excess of 60 hours per week. Who you report directly to changes frequently. Inexperienced middle management who doesn't understand what it means to lead.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want to retain associates who can truly be game changers in health care then you need to believe and trust in them.

    - Competitive salary for a Midwestern company
    - Fast paced learning opportunities, not only in IT but healthcare
    - Cutting edge technology, if you're lucky

    Cons

    - Most employees (associates) are treated like work machines
    - A free corporate cell phone is not that great
    - Mid-level management is seldomly on your side
    - HR is Cerner HR, not yours

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your associates that do the work, not middle management who take the credit for it.

    Pros

Lots of opportunity to learn about what is up and coming in health care. Encourages movement within organization. Great for new grads. The recruiter was helpful to narrow down the search of open positons.

    Cons

Management doesn't have proper training to help employees. 18 months before you can move within organization. Job you are hired for initially seems to be different once you start.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
