I have been working at Charles River Associates

    Pros

Extremely intelligent coworkers who are a pleasure to work with. International exposure with growth opportunities. Excellent learning by doing environment. Talent and hard work recognized and rewarded. Management is working very diligently and honestly to overcome "sins of the past" by restructuring business model, training and development programs, and creating more transparent comp structure. Excellent benefits package. Work life friendly.

    Cons

Admin staff cut to the core and many strained to the limits. Dissatisfied talented former employees who have left. Morale low, but I can see it improving as changes become slowly integrated into culture. Some really bad hiring decisions made in the past, many of which have been corrected.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't expect blood from a stone. Admin staff hamstrung with over burdened workload preventing the real strategic work that will, at least from a structural perspective, aid in cultural change and shift in overall morale.

    Pros

CRA gives younger employees skills that they need and a background that will make them successful in other jobs or in graduate school.

    Cons

Even if you perform very well in your job, it is pretty much essential that you obtain a graduate degree to move up in the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership at the company is strong and and has the ability to recruit top talent. Recruiting and retaining top talent will help the company win business.
