I worked at Charles Schwab full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good work life balance on the Institutional side of the business. Opportunities to take advantage of career development. Nice and competent coworkers. Schwab is a respected name in San Francisco and beyond.

Cons

Sometimes I found decision making to be slow. Because the pace of work is fairly predictable, there isn't much excitement after you've figured out your job. Co-workers can be overly formal.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Think of ways to reward employee innovation.

I have been working at Charles Schwab full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Can't think of anything good about working here.

    Cons

Use to be able to telecommute, but can't anymore. You don't get promoted based on skill, only based on years. Most Sr Managers are poor managers, but have been with the company for over 10 years, and just get promoted based on time with the company.

    Advice to Management

Fire yourself. Take a survey of employees and you will find out the company has gone downhill.
