Pros

lots of inventory to sell from if you are a sales person. clean

Cons

if your not part of the click, forget it. you are on your own and will have to struggle to get anywhere. if your not into kissing butt to the higher ups, forget it. you are labeled. the upper management, ceo, cfo's etc, will smile at you just as quick as they put the knife in. there is no loyaly unless you have kissed their butt and done all their dirty work for years. but even then, thats not a guarentee. if your a sales person i reccomend learning how the payplan really works, how it benefits management on how much you sell. work that to your advantage.

Advice to Management

come back down to earth, deflate your ego and remember where you came from

    Pros

There are awesome opportunities, particularly if you don't have a college degree and are willing to put in the time/effort. It's also a negotiation-free store, so the actual selling process is a lot more pleasant.

    Cons

Despite what they preach, the work/life balance isn't very good... You have old-school people still in charge despite a new process. And it's just getting worse. They also treat everyone as expendable, and that's not the way to keep quality people. The number of cars that you have to sell to break your draw and actually make any money can also be really difficult to meet when the traffic isn't there.

    Advice to Management

Give better health benefits (having a high-deductible plan as the only option isn't great), and focus more on the work/life balance. Take another look at the Henry Ford model. The idealistic new process isn't going to keep good people if they're forced to work most evenings and every weekend.

    Pros

Great opportunities for people who are just starting out or for someone who would like to start a new career in the car business and if you don't have a college degree. Like the previous review stated, it is a no negotiation process which makes the car buying process easier and pleasant for all involved.

    Cons

I agree with the previous review which stated that as a Product Specialist you will be working the majority of your life. Usually 50+ hoursa week, every weekend Friday, Saturday, and every other Sunday, many nights of the week until 9:00pm (closing time) or 11:00pm etc. basically when you have finished with your last customer or delivery. There is a draw involved so it is hard to meet your quota for the month based on store traffic and a long wait for what they call a rotation of up's (meaning when it rotates to your turn to help a customer) but if you know a lot of people you will do well. The auto business is tough to work in and they do a fine job of reeling people in to sell cars with titles such as Customer Care Representative and Product Specialist, they prefer to hire people who have not sold cars before. With the new process which is designed to make the dealership more money and pay salespeople less than what they would normally make to sell a car "the old way."

    Advice to Management

Don't let the business of pleasing customers taint the way you deal with your employees. Be completely honest with potential candidates when interviewing them for this position in order to maintain a staff that is happy and wants to work there for life! Potential candidates need to know that there is longevity with the company while working there and not feel expendable. The new process needs to be tweaked to not only benefit the customers but the employees as well, otherwise it will become very hard for the company to keep staff and not have a revolving door. There should also be a lot more of balance in the culture of working and home life in order to keep employees on board.
