I have been working at Cheesecake Factory part-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Very team oriented. The managers are very helpful and driven. There are a lot of shifts to work. The money is great. If full-time there are really good health benefits offered. Flexible scheduling, and short shifts make it a great job for a full-time student. Always busy.

Cons

Because of the fast pace management doesn't have time to take care of staff at times. Hosts regularly seat all tables at the same time. If full-time servers are very overworked and burned out. Weekends must be worked as well as holidays. Shifts can go really late at night.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the rules as far as seating a server all tables at once. This rule can really hurt the server and cause them to be overworked, as well as risk hurting the guest experience. Breaker and food-running shifts should pay better. There should be more food-runners scheduled each shift. Work life balance is a huge problem. Management doesn't care at all about work life balance.

    I have been working at Cheesecake Factory part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Friendly staff. I worked at the Cheesecake Factory for 6 years during college. Depending on the state you live in, the server minimum wage will be different. It's usually around $4-$5 an hour. Don't plan on seeing a paycheck though because they take it all for taxes on your cash tips.

    If you're a good server and can handle busy sections, you can average around $150-$250 a day. You also usually make more for dinner shifts than lunches because check averages are higher. Also, I worked in downtown Chicago which is a busy location. If you work in a suburb it may not be as consistently busy

    Cons

    Tips vary. When you just start out, you won't make more than about $75-$100 a day because you'll be in small sections to start with. Keep in mind that the Cheese makes you tip out almost 40% of your tips, but the averages above are after tip out.

    Pros

    Awesome environment, a lot of teamwork, managers work with your schedule, hotschedules!, decent hourly pay, pretty laid back management.

    Cons

    Asked for more hours, but unfortunately, never got them. Sometimes I would get only 3 hour shifts, which i thought was a little ridiculous.
