I have been working at Chestnut Health Systems full-time for more than a year

Pros

Chestnut provides a good working atmosphere. Staff is pretty laid back and they do what they can to keep employee morale up. The company is always working to improve practices and efficiency working with what they are given as a non-profit agency. They really try to work with your schedule and meet your personal and professional needs. Supervisors and management work hard to help you set and meet your goals to further your experience. Overall, a happy, healthy work environment.

Cons

As a non-profit, pay is generally low. Layoffs are also a concern on a yearly basis due relying on government funding and various grants. Reorganization changes by upper management sometimes seem to only address short term rather than long term needs of the company. Communication can sometimes be biased to certain individuals and teams, which can be frustrating.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make re-organizational decisions with long term goals in mind.

I have been working at Chestnut Health Systems full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

working with trouble youths and helping them find a different way of life

    Cons

co-workers are always trying to stab each other in the back and it is not consistant with rules and they don't follow their own policies and change them verbally to suit their needs. They don't work with their employees to help them achieve.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help your employees more by being trustworthy and worrying about the overall rather than focusing on writing up your employees for having medical conditions or not taking a supper break. Trust your employees to do their job.
