    Pros

Great people, profound concern for the individual, decent pay and benefits, excellent work/life balance, safety oriented culture.

    Cons

Paralyzingly long committee based funding/decision making. Reporting up by dashboard, no agility as you get closer to the corporate hub.

    Advice to Management

Promote managers who can think faster on their feet, those who can inspire, innovate. Managers that truly understand the business and use of technology from a big picture standpoint are invaluable NOT so the checklist/minutiae inspired "yes-person" risk-averse all-green dashboard reliant, slow to deploy projects type manager. Reduce pointless or marginal value metrics and re-educate the armies of personnel employed to provide them. Focus reporting primarily on critical safety, security and key finances. Seek to understand and actively support future innovation and value generation - NOT the endless cost cutting and retrenching to focus just on whatever constitutes the corporate bottom line. Remove barriers to (and embrace learning from) fail-fast projects (safely of course). Despite these shortcomings Chevron is still the BEST energy company to work for!
