The pay and benefits are amazing! The work environment is also great. Additionally, Chevron takes a lot of pride in what it does, while keeping an eye on the environment as well as it's surrounding communities.

Cons

If your an operator, the rotating shift can be a bit of a challenge. Additionally, the 12 hour shifts can be taxing.

    I worked at Chevron full-time

    Pros

Great benefits. A lot of career development opportunities. People are pretty understanding of Work/life balance. Culture is to reward those who work hard and give results.

    Cons

Some people do a lot more work than others without much notice. A lot of older people like to stick to their ways even if its not the best way.

    Advice to Management

Listen to new employees- just because you're an established older employee does not mean you know best.

I have been working at Chevron full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

9/80 work schedule, oil industry salary, job stability. There are lots of jobs that one can apply for internally and moving between groups feels like jumping to whole new company.

    Cons

Lots of politics, bureaucracy, not efficient. They don't always promote the best people and performance reviews are biased, it all depends on where you are and who your boss is. If you get lucky job can be nice.

    Advice to Management

Rate employees on real results and promote the real performers.
