It was okay.

Former Employee - Server in New York, NY

I worked at Chevy's full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Food was good. You made a decent amount of tips in the summer. Some of the other servers were friendly.

Cons

At the time I worked there, they were starting to make changes(hiring new managers and servers). The severs who worked there for a long time thought they were still running the store and often gossiped.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get respect from your staff.

    Pros

The menu doesn't take long to learn.

    Cons

    Highly unorganized system of operations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

create a team friendly environment by organization and employee's best interest, so that employees are not at each other's throats for tables that come in.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

Chevy's provided me the flexibility to work nearly full time while also going to school full time.

Former Employee - Assistant Manager/Local Marketing Representative

    I worked at Chevy's part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

For those interested in moving up in the company even simply at the restaurant level there is the possibility. There are multiple positions such a training, marketing, shift management available to those looking to gain experience in a non-corporate environment.

    Cons

Depending on location the staff itself could be an issue due to lack of drive as they simply view it as a means to an end. Management often times tries to cut corners in order to save money to their benefit and it often effects the staff and guests.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should be more thoroughly vetted and trained before beginning. Also more perks to encourage the staff to work harder may increase work force efficiency.
