I have been working at Chico's FAS full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Great experience with my fellow associates and the clientele. Built great friendships in the friendly, up beat work environment.

Cons

The company has a lot of growing up to do and by that I mean you can definitely tell that they company is still trying to develop a corporate lifestyle. There are several gaps in the client experience and it can be difficult to provide excellent customer service. Horrible pay- a good portion of the pay is based of bonuses from sales, and that is great for sales associates because they can make more with Chico's than at another retailer, however its very hard to survive on the minimum dollar when you are a manager.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Place you front line managers on salary- or at least give them the option to do so! We are getting the short end of the stick!

I have been working at Chico's FAS

    Pros

    Benefits, Ammenities, Facilities, Comradery, Location

    Cons

No work/life balance; Upper management is professional for new hires, but do not take care of long term employees. Bonus structure is not strong. Often no lunch break. Meetings all day (no at desk work time). Systems are archaic. Almost each associate is responsible for 2 positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You save more money from promoting within, however, this is said but not often done. New associates have more onboarding opportunities. Too many chiefs, not enough indians. Productivity is down based on the number of employees, however this is a macro view of the company and is not considered department by department. Employees are responsible for multiple jobs and work extremely long hours. Lunch breaks are almost non-existent. If you speak to management about it, they make you feel like you are unprofessional for expecting time with your family. The people who have worked at Chico's the longest are loyal to your company. Make them feel appreciated and respected. Compensate them for their jobs. These are the people who train new associates and keep the business running. It's important to keep them with your company for the long run.

I have been working at Chico's FAS

    Pros

The clothes are so pretty. Their was a lot of sales volume and it was not hard to make a sale

    Cons

I did not obtain many hours, but the customers were very friendly when I did work. More employee benefits would be cool.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Only hire people if you give them hours, it is very dissappointing working and not be able to work. Or trying to work, but you have not too much experience with no hours.
